Samantha Nixon (she/her) is an Associate at Davis Pier with experience in international and Canadian emergency management, humanitarian aid, and government relations. She has worked on projects supporting disaster response, community resilience, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on empowering locally led action. Pairing her strong facilitation and coordination skills with her deep commitment to community resilience and equity, Samantha is passionate about advancing social impact through collaborative, community-driven approaches.  

Samantha holds a Masters in International Affairs from Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and a B.A. Politics from Acadia University. She has completed specialized training in results-based management for NGOs and leading humanitarian financial assistance programming.

Outside of work, Samantha enjoys being on the ocean paddling, on the slopes skiing, and is always up for a themed party! She is a proud board member for the Y of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth and an emergency management volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross.
