Mike Davis (he/him) is the Co-Founder, President, and CEO of Davis Pier Consulting as well as Head of Public Sector and Healthcare (Americas) for parent company Kainos. Prior to founding Davis Pier in 2014, Mike worked as a consultant, public servant, and researcher with government and community sector partners across Canada, Europe, Africa, and Asia for over 20 years.
His background as an engineer and social scientist brings a unique perspective to social service delivery and Mike is well-regarded for his ability to design and architect truly implementable solutions with community and within government. Mike’s passion for improving the well-being of Canadians has been a driving force behind Davis Pier’s transformation into a socially focused consulting agency and its mission: Innovative solutions to complex government and social challenges.
Mike holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering from Dalhousie University. He also spent two years conducting research on the behaviour and decision-making of people living in poverty while completing his Master’s degree in Behavioural Sciences at the London School of Economics. He is certified as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and a Distinguished Fellow with the Dalhousie University Faculty of Management.
Mike is committed to giving back. He served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Kids Help Phone and Chaired its Youth Experience and Innovation Committee. He was named to the Province of Nova Scotia’s Environmental Racism Panel and dedicates significant time to supporting community organizations with a focus on alleviating poverty and better promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion principles. He also serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Halifax Partnership, Halifax Regional Municipality’s economic development agency.
Mike was named one of Atlantic Business Magazines Top 50 CEOs five years in a row (culminating with his induction into their business Hall of Fame in May 2026), as well as being named the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s Business Leader of the year in 2025. He was recognized with the prestigious Aurum Award from Dalhousie University for his outstanding achievements in innovation, community engagement, and leadership and his contributions to the social, cultural, and economic well-being of society.
