Elizabeth Burton

Elizabeth Burton (she/her) is an Analyst at Davis Pier with a background in child and family well-being, Indigenous rights, Canadian politics, international development, and immigration. In her previous experience, Elizabeth focused on building consensus among diverse system partners to advance culturally grounded and community-informed work. She also has developed strong skills in communication, collaborative policy development, and legislative review. At Davis Pier, Elizabeth has supported projects within the Disability and Accessibility field. Elizabeth’s academic and professional experience is bolstered by a deep commitment to equity, trauma-informed practice, and improving public systems through culturally safe and responsive policy.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science and Development Studies from St. FX University, and a Master of Public Administration from Dalhousie University. While at St. FX, she received the Dr. Marguerite Michaud Prize in Canadian Studies.

Outside of work, Elizabeth enjoys dancing, including coaching lessons and training to compete at national competitions. She loves travelling and being outdoors and often spends time on hikes with her partner around Nova Scotia to photograph wildlife and landscapes.
