Responsibilities

The Associate will:

  • Act as a lead consultant or team lead on complex projects;
  • Manage resources within Davis Pier, partner firms, and client organizations;
  • Manage client relationships within project environments;
  • Provide expertise in our service lines on client engagements, including change management expertise;
  • Develop high quality project deliverables;
  • Incorporate change management activities into project plans when required;
  • Facilitate client workshops and interviews;
  • Seamlessly integrate with client teams; and
  • Develop tailored approaches to project delivery to ensure engagement outcomes are delivered in a non-disruptive manner.

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Formal education in business, public administration, engineering, or IT;
  • 5 years of previous experience in a change management role;
  • Previous experience in project settings in a professional service environment;
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, approaches, and tools;
  • Exceptional relationship building skills;
  • Proficiency with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle;
  • Focused on providing exceptional results to clients;
  • Experience with planning, organizing, leading, designing and implementing change management activities;
  • Experience facilitating cross-functional client meetings and workshops to support change management efforts;
  • Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
  • Possess the ability to remain flexible concerning approaches to delivering client solutions;
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Previous consulting experience would be considered an asset;
  • Change management certification or designation would be considered an asset;

Financial Administrator

We hire great people who work hard at delivering great results for clients within a flexible, autonomous workplace. We are looking for a Financial Administrator to join our team. Reporting to our Director of Finance and Administration, this role will be accountable for the day-to-day accounting and general governance process for our non-profit outpost, Pier Labs.

Responsibilities

The Financial Administrator will primarily be responsible for financial functions for our non-profit outpost, Pier Labs, and will also support Davis Pier functions including:

  • Accounts Payable and Account Receivables .
  • Monthly financial statement preparation and related performance metrics tracking.
  • Work with external auditors to support annual audit processes and special purpose project audits.
  • Expense reports and visa reconciliations.
  • Preparation of HST returns and related filings.
  • Maintain tracking of contractor budgets and reconcile subcontractor and vendor invoices.
  • Preparing and assisting with the reconciliation of inter-company transactions.
  • Work with project managers on project budget tracking and track project related expenses against budgets.
  • Supporting Board of Directors Administration and ensuring governance to bylaws (e.g., preparing resolutions and minutes, preparing Board packages, coordination of meetings and issuing notices) and related regulatory filings.
  • Support the tracking of contract accountability and confirm adherence to project contract terms.
  • Other duties as required to support the financial administration of the organization.

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Completion of an Accounting, Business Administration, or related post-secondary program
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in accounting and financial administration
  • Experience in calculating input tax credits and mixed revenue tax applications
  • Knowledge of professional services invoicing processes and project accounting
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
  • Excellent computer skills including a strong level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Quickbooks
  • Previous professional services or not for profit experience would be considered an asset

Behavioural Science Lead

The Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Behavioural Science Lead to join our team in Halifax, Canada. Responsibilities

The Behavioural Science lead will:

  • Lead and contribute to the application of behavioural science theories and concepts to research and consulting projects focused on improving government policy and programming;
  • Lead project, partnership, and business development efforts to grow the behavioural science practice within Davis Pier, identifying potential opportunities for funding, developing proposals and executive presentations, and building relationships with key decision-makers;
  • Grow the understanding of Behavioural Science across Davis Pier and identify potential to integrate these practices into other projects and practice areas;
  • Conduct a broad range of desk and field research-related activities, including developing research plans and experimental designs; conducting qualitative and quantitative data gathering through interviews, workshops, and surveys; and synthesizing and analyzing data;
  • Create deliverables, including research reports and slide decks, to communicate the status, findings, and results of research and consulting work;
  • Providing mentorship and oversight of Behavioural Science team members;
  • Manage client relationships within project environments;
  • Facilitate client workshops and presentations;
  • Manage project budgets and resourcing;
  • Lead and support the continued development of behavioural science assets and methodologies within the organization;
  • Continually scan behavioural science literature and attend behavioural science conferences specific to key policy areas to ensure the organization has an up to date understanding of leading research and practices;
  • Participation in firm sponsored community involvement activities; and
  • Adherence to administrative processes and firm policies such as timesheet reporting, expense tracking, workplace safety, diversity and inclusion efforts, and sustainability practices.

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in behavioural science, behavioural economics, economics, psychology, or other social science domains;
  • Experience applying behavioural science concepts to real-world problems;
  • Experience in completing field research, randomized control trials, quasi-experimental research projects, etc.;
  • Experience in leading projects and team members;
  • Strong statistical capabilities and ability to use statistical software;
  • Previous experience in project settings in a services-based or applied research environment;
